Nightfire, Tor Books horror imprint, will be open to unagented novel and novella submissions from June 15, 2021 to June 22, 2021. They are looking for works aimed at adults, from across the horror spectrum. Full details are here. 

Fireside Fiction is opening for a brief submission period from January 25 to February 5, 2021. They are open to stories up to 3,000 long, as well as poetry of any length. Payment for fiction is 12.5 cents per word, and all poems are a $100 flat rate. You can find full details here.

Deep Magic is open to subs again from now to sometime in March. Payment is pro-rate of 8 cents per word for stories of 1,000-7499 words. They will take longer stories, but pay is capped at 7,499 words maximum. They also buy reprints at 2 cents per word. Details are here.

Uncanny Magazine is opening to novella submissions April 1-April 30, 2021. They are looking for between 17,500-40,000 words. Full details to come here.

Mermaids Monthly hit their kickstarter goal and is open for their first submission period. They are looking for stories up to 5,000 words, and pay 10 cents per word. Submissions open December 20, 2020 and close on January 9, 2021. They also want poetry and art. Full details can be found here.

Audible books is introducing a new program called Pitch @ Audible. They are looking for original unpublished stories/novels to develop into audio books. You can find full details here.

PseudoPod is open for a short submission period that runs from October 15, 2020 to November 2, 2020. They are looking for horror fiction stories up to 6,000 words long. Payment is 8 cents per word. Flame Tree Press has announced an open call for it’s new anthology Terrifying Ghosts. Submissions will be open until September 20, 2020. They are looking for gothic ghost stories of between 2,000-4,000 words, and payment is 8 cents per word. They do accept reprints. Full details here. 

OWW’s Joshua Palmaiter, founder of Zombies Need Brains small press, has just successfully funded a Kickstarter for three new anthologies of science fiction and fantasy short stories. The open submission window is now open. ZNB pays an advance of 8 cents per word, and stories should be no longer than 7500 words. Clarksworld magazine is open and looking for fantasy stories between 1,000 and 22,000 words. They pay 10 cents per word. Full submission guidelines are here.
