Upon a Once Time anthology is open for submissions from July 1, 2020-February 28, 2021.  They are looking for stories where you choose two of your favorite fairy tales, and a genre of your choice, and mash them up to make something new. Stories may be of any genre (SF, Grimdark, New Weird–anything) as long as they incorporate two fairy tales. They are looking for stories between 1,000-3,000 words and paying 8 cents per word. Flame Tree Press has an open call for short stories for its new anthology, Strange Lands, that started March 16, 2020 and runs until April 5, 2020. They are looking for stories between 2,000-4,000 words, and pay 6 cents per word. Full details can be found here.

Third Flatiron Anthologies is opening for submissions of SF/F/H short stories from February 15 – March 15, 2020. The theme of this anthology is “positive futures.”

Unidentified Funny Objects is an annual anthology of humorous science fiction and fantasy. For their eighth anthology, they’re looking for all styles and sub-genres of speculative humor. Submission window opens April 1st and closes again on April 30, 2020. They want stories between 500 and 5,000 words, and payment is 10 cents a word.
